Hier spricht Edgar Wallace

The Edgar Wallace Movies are well known and even cult in Germany and the German speaking countries. They are a fab example for cheesy 60s crime-movies with hidden doors and stuff all over the place and gangsters with cheesy names, too (The Frog with the mask, the scary monk, the monk with the whip etc. etc.) Between 1959 and 1972 there were 38 (!!!!!!!) Edgar Wallace movies plus 14 (!!!!) more exclusively for TV. Many of the actors starred in multiple movies... often in different roles though.

For example: you can expect in almost every movie (at least in 22 of them) that sooner or later Klaus Kinski will show up and that he´s likely to be a bad guy. And Joachim "Blacky" Fuchsberger is likely to play the good guy and mostly an police-man from Scotland Yard). With exeptions of course to confuse the audience.

The movies all play in London or at least England. However I´m sure the Englishmen are not familiar with the movies...
