I talked to Zoe Scarlett today and I´m all exited about the calendar-shoot and the animals I´ll shoot with... But I won´t tell yet which ones ;-) What i can tell: We´ll be shooting a lot, we´ll be filming a lot and we´ll have tons of girlie-fun! For more you´ll have to wait for the video diary.... Harrr!
I´ll have a few days off now. It´s my and Johns anniversary (3 years and still rocking) so off course we want to celebrate it! And I wanna prepare for the shooting, too.
***********

And now to something completely different
"Would you like to do another shooting the day before our Pin p animal Rescue Shooting?" that´s what Zoe Scarlett asked me. I said off course "yes" cause while I´m in Switzerland anyway and have the chance to work with some really great photographer I do it. Now the deal was to do something different colourfull. The concept was colourfull 80s doll-style and I couldn´t imagine what is meant by that?!
So I arrived in Basel and we went to Mr. Wünsch and Mr. Merz and they showed what they had prepared for us... Our outfits are actually stripes of latex that me and the photographer cut in pieces and draped around our bodies and heads. In the end we looked like the lovechild of nuns and the teletubbys and sometimes like turkish fetish models with those scarf-like things around our head. I wouldn´t be surprised if we get strange request from Turkish fetish magazines now ;-)
Well, it really turned to be something different as usual, but beeing a weird person I like to try weird stuff. ;-) Here´s the first pic that I "stole" from Myspace ;-) There will probably be more pics of the shoot soon.

Making of Pin up Animal Rescue Video
As I said before no animals were harmed. You see the gentleman with the hat? He checked every few minutes that I hold Schnappi properly and that it won´t get stressed and would have killed me if I had done it any harm. Besides anyone that has befriended me should know that I have lived all my life with pets and would rather harm myself than a helpless creature.
Yes I got to repeat the disclaimer. Someone on myspace wrote the unapprociate comment to me "Are you going to kill baby seals next time to show how violent it is?" It´s actually good if you can read disclaimers, ya know ;-)
Anyway. If in doubt check out their website http://www.herpetofauna.ch or drop them a mail to ask after the conditions of the shooting. They´ll probaly tell you the same.

Shooting the Pin up Animal Rescue Calendar
When the animal trainer adviced me how to hold the caiman I was terrified of two things:
No. 1: That it is really aggressive since he told me so many many times to really hold it tight cause otherwise it would escape or bite me
No. 2: To struggle the poor thing cause I had to hold it just behind it´s head :-o The way I hold it looks a bit brutal in the video, but I was instructed to do so and can assure you "Schnappi" was still able to breath.
However "Schnappi" hardly moved at all and seemed to be sort of comfortable hanging around in my hands and never even tried to escape. It was surely good that it was used to humans and probably it felt that I don´t want to do it any harm. And we kept things as stress-free as possible for him. If the caiman would have gotten nervous we had interupted it.
How does does it feel to touch a caiman? It´s tummy was soft like pudding and it´s back was hard like stone!
The photos are for Zoe Scarletts Pin up Animal Rescue calendar 2009 that will be released at the 18th of October and also features Pin up superstars such as Kay O´Hara and Heidi van Horne. You will be able to purchase it on www.zoescarlett.com soon. All the money will be going to a Animal Rescue organisation in Switzerland. You can imagine that I said "yes" immediately when Zoe asked me cause I feel we all should do our best to protect the nature and our animals! Every bit helps!

Busy Times
Hi dear readers!
Finally I get to report a bit on my trip to Stockholm... I had some quiet busy times...
It were wonderfull 5 days filled with fun! We had sunshine and warm weather on every single day! When we arrived it was rainy and we started to worry cause me and John mostly brought summer-clothing and T-Shirts with us, but by the time we arrived in our holiday-apartment the sun came out and never left since.
We were in the district Marieberg which is just a bridge and like 2 busstations away from Södermalm which is THE hotspot for 2nd Hand shoppers and we were like 10 minutes by bus from the trainstation. Our apartment was in walking distance to the sea and it was CHEAP. It was a small apartment with one room and a small kittchen, but for two people that´s enough. (Plus my apartment is just 30 qm big, so we are used to small places).
We arrived in the evening so we just went to the super-market to pick up some food and than went to bed. We woke up at about 6 in the morning so we were able to start with a relaxed little breakfast and headed off to Södermalm for an extreme Vintage-Shopping-Tour! There are more than a dozen of shops and we almost made it to all of them. I got me a prety cape, a skirt thats probably from the 60s, a 50s bustier and bunches of vintage magazines... I got to say those stores were better sorted than in Germany. Here you mostly see bunches of trashy 70s and 80s stuff in the stores - in Sweden the stores are more sorted. Off course you get there 70s and 80s, too, but it doesn´t overlap so much most of the time. There are many stores specialised on the 60s and earlier and the prices were in most stores very very good. (Like about 20 Euro for a 50s bustier in wonderfull shape or less than 1 Euro for a vintage magazine).
The day after that we went to see the ship Vasa (Probably Swedens biggest embarrasment since it sank in the 17th century on the first day it went to water after 1200 m, Skansen which is a beautifull open air-museum inclunding re-enactors for times from 17th century to the 19th century. There you find old mansons, farms and animals that live in Sweden and the nordic museum which had a georgous exibition on vintage clothes.
And on day 3 we went to meet Brian Hobbs (you maybe remember him from my "Talented Myspace friends" blog) and had some chinese food together. It was really nice to meet him in person. We also desperately tried to find a Cd that just wasn´t available anywhere. I had given my promise to bring some for my friends anni and Benji, but the Cd wasn´t realeased yet so I couldn´t fullfill it (unfortunetly I went to about 10 Cd stores before I realised that).
When we got home both of us were sad cause we would have loved to stay in Sweden, but well.... it´s all about the money. During the weekend I also got to met my friend Viola and her husband. We hadn´t seen for years, since she moved to England and got married there so it was really nice to see her again and share the nice and not so nice memories from the past. And I got to see Switzerlands Sweetheart Zoe Scarlet that was dropping by Düsseldorf to go to a biiiiig fleamarket. I also worked on a dress and I will start to work on a super-cute skirt tonight so one can tell I have busy times behind me... ;-)
