The 1960s Face

Hi everyone,

in the past weeks I went and showed a 1940s look and a 1950s look and this week we finally reached the 1960s. I hope you enjoyed the Little series. I think about doing some more Looks, but considering I have a bad cold I do not know when I will find time to take new photos. But if you have a request you can post it in the comments and I´ll see what I can do.

In this decade the Attention went away from the lips with nude and glossy Colors and went straight to the eyes with Vibrant Colors, Eyeliner and faux lashes. I don´t use faux lashes in this look but basically everything else ;-)

So..... primer, foundation, concealer, cream blush, powder. You know, the usual she-bang. I put the turqouise shade all over my eye, sparing the tearduct area. In the tearduct area I put the golden Color and also spread it all over the eye a bit. I added the Eyeliner and a heavy layer of Mascara to my upper AND lower lashes (I didn´t do much with my lower lashes in the former Looks). I added the lip boom lipstick AND the gloss and ta-da.... done. A more neutral eyed Version of the 60s look is my usual work look because it is so quick and easy :-)

Products used for this look:
Face: Catrice Prime and Fine Base, Matte perfect Foundation, Hide and Conceal Concealer, Matte Perfect Powder, Cream Blush in "Dolly".

Eyes: Eyes Primer, Dusk til Dawn Palette (golden Color and turqouise Color), Eyeliner in shade 5, Catrice precision eye pencil "Blackstreet Boy", Essence I love extreme Mascara, P2 Eyebrow Express "Stylish Blonde", Intense Color Eyeliner "rich Brown", Essence Guerilla Gardening eyebrow Mascara "my Piece of land",

Lips: Lip Boom in "OMG".

P.s: If you are tempted to try some MUA stuff (I am not beeing paid by them to write this or to post something. I just love their stuff and as it is so cheap to buy I Chose to buy MUA over something that costs way more) they have a Special offer where you only pay 1 British Pound per shipping if you spend 15 British Pound going on until tomorrow morning. So it would be a good Chance to get a Thing or two. I just bought their new blushers and they look amazing. I wait for another delivery of their old blushers that I did in May so I can do a huge blusher swatchfest. :-)

The 1950s Face

Hello everyone,

last week we time travelled to the 1940s, now we are doing a jump Forward and go to the 1950s. The 50s were a lot about Pastell Colors. Eye-Shadow, lipstick, Dresses. Foundation was more common than in the 40s and the Eyeliner made it´s big and sophisticated entry. Eyebrows were more defined, even exagerated with high arches (which I can´t do as mine are rather straight;-). I used a pink eyeshadow on most of my lid and a salmon-ish one in the crease. I used a pinkish blusher and a pink lip-cream with a blue-ish undertone.

Products I used (mostly MUA unless stating otherwise):

Face: Catrice Prime and Fine, Matte Perfect Foundation, Hide and Conceal, Cover and Conceal, Matte Perfect powder, Essence Cherry Blossom Girl Blush.

Eyes: Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil "Milk", Pretty Pastels Palette, Eyeliner Shade 1, Essence I love extreme Mascara, P2 Eyebrow Express Stylish Blond", Extreme Color Eyeliner "rich Brown", Essence Guerilla gardening eyebrow Mascara "my Piece of land"

Lips: Essence Guerilla Gardening lip cream "Mission flower"

Testing new make up things: Essence, P2, Alverde & Catrice

Hello everyone,

I try to get back to normal, but off course that´s not so easy. I managed to do a little make up today with some new things that I did not use yet and here is a review. I even tried to smile for you once.

Catrice Prime anf Fine  Smoothing Refiner: Usually I use the Perfect Face make up base by P2 and I was allways pleased with it, but I figured it can´t hurt to try another one. I really LOVE the Catrice one and really feel it keeps up to it´s promise on the packing ("for invisible pores and lines"). Future will tell whether it can keep up with a work day. What I don´t like it that you have to stick your finger into the jar which is notvery hygenic. Apart from this it´s great!

P2 Cosmic Dream eye shadow "dreamy venus": No Iam not impressed. The highlighter is full of clunky glitter and the highlighter and medium colour are not very pigmented. The dark color is better, but this doesn´t help it. Sorry, thumbs down for this!!!

P2 Pure color lipstick "Walk of fame": I love the pure color lipsticks and this is no exception! I hope for many more to come. P2, please never stop this range!

Essence Liquid ink eyeliner: Love it! Great brush applicator, great color pay off and easy to put on. Will buy again. I did not really test the water proof aspect because even with non water proof ones I rarely have problems.

Alverde Modern Art Blush "New Red": Love it. Great for photoshootings. Very good pay off. I hope there will be more great blushes like this in their regular line!

P2 Sun City tested by a pale face

Hello everyone,

it is sort of a testing day to me, as John has to work all day and I was awake very early.

Summer editions rarely work for me. I´m just not really a bronzer type because they are allways so dark! However when I saw the new summ
er edition from P2 I was tryng anyway expecting to be disappointed. However... I realized the be charming! loose powder in "sun kiss" is actually not too dark to be used as a glowy bronzer. And while I was at it I took along the loose eyeshadow in "N.Y.", too... I should really get my hair cut. Whenever it gets too long I can´t curl it anymore :-( Time for m
y summer cut!

What I used: P2 Sun city be charming! loose powder "sun kiss" (as bronzer), P2 Sun city be electric! loose eye shadow "N.Y", Kiko eye shadow 141 (I bought that last weekend in the Rheinparkcenter in Neuss. hadn´t heard of that before), Essence metal glam eye liner in "got a date", Catrice absolute moisture lipstick in "dark rosewood"
