I told ya I am back ;-)

Hello everyone,

I was happy to get the photo I posted earlier today.... and I am amazed that I can post even more from the same shoot so quickly <3
I truely long for warmer days and it´s only the start of December!
you wonder how we achieved this effect? Well, we had an assistant throw water at me. Believe me it´s not easy to resist the reflex to blink in that moment :-)
You already saw this dress on RTL and you can get your own one custom made here: http://de.dawanda.com/shop/fraeuleinwunder right now even 12% cheaper!!! Take the chance!

It was warm enough to do a quick out door shooting as well! This is the dress I wore when filming for WDR earlier this year. You can get it here: http://shop.strato.de/epages/15053214.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15053214/Products/pug140/SubProducts/pug140-0004 Unlike is having some great offers due to X-Mas time so even if you don´t end up buying this one Iam sure you´ll make another bargain, so you should stop by in any case ;-)

Rose Patricia Milinery - As seen on Guten Abend RTL

Hello everyone,

when I received my beautiful custom made couture hat by Rose Patricia Milinery I KNEW that I really have to make some photos wearing it. It is such a delicious and well made piece it would have been a shame not to!!!!

If you want to see more of her wonderfull creations you should absolutely visit her website: http://rosepatriciamillinery.bigcartel.com/ every hat is hand made by professional miliner Rosa. She learned her craft from Rose Corey, former miliner of Queen Mom (yes. that Queen Mom!) and thus her designs are truely fit for a little pin up queen ;-)

The photos were taken and photoshopped by Dennis Steinhoff from http://www.digitalart-steinhoff.de last weekend. Keep your eyes peeled for more beautiful photos from this session with all the outfits I wore on "Guten Abend RTL" and more :-) (wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more)

Book Review: "Retro Makeup - Techniques for Applying the Vintage Look"

Hello everyone,

A while ago I posted about Lauren Rennells new book "Retro Makeup - Techniques for Applying the Vintage Look". Most of you already know her as the author of "Vintage Hairstyling", my personal bible for Vintage hair :-)

I saw it and thought I better get it, based on the damn good impressions I have from Vintage Hairstyling Edition 1 + 2 (and before you ask: YES, it is important to have both editions bec
ause there are different stylings in it!)

So how do I find it? Is it worth buying and what do you actually get?

This book covers a lot of make up history. It introduced various make up brushes that you can use to reproduce or re-interprete the styles of the book. This is very very good for make up novices! The book covers the history of our most beloved cosmetic articles such as lipstick, blush, eye liner, mascara etc. While those contained no news for me it was still interesting to read and also included some nice novelty facts.

Every decade introduced features 3 different looks and how to reproduce them. None of it seems particulary tricky. Apart from the 60s eye liner styles they seem almost too easy to me, but than again I have been doing my own hair and make up for shootings for 7 years. It is very nice for reference though.
Things I felt were missing: I felt that something on how to emphasize your individual face form using blush or/and highlighter was missing. There is a short part on it, but that is not really much. I would have loved to have more stuff such as articles from old magazines or/and beauty books in it. I have some where they display makeup morning routines in detail and I LOVE that. In the book is one written description from the 50s. Besides that I have nothing to complain. ;-)

I really enjoyed: The beautifull photos, the breakdown on brushes, the part on what ladies had on their vanities, the "novelty" trivias in it.

Is it worth buying? Do you have the two Kevyn Aucoin books on Make up and Mike Browns books "The 1940s Look" and "The 1950s Look"? If so you don´t necessarily need this book.

However it is nice to have. The make ups are easy to reproduce. The advice is helpfull and if you have not that much knowledge about era-specific looks it is wellworth the money! I say: BUY!

Where can you get it?

Decades of Glamour

Hi everyone!

A few weeks ago I said I´d get back to you about the Too Faced Decades of Glamour box and now I do ;-)

I really like it for my daily make up actually. The blushes are really nice and the shimmer powder has not too much shimmer and yet gives you a nice glow. You´d have too use tons of it for shootings though and there is a tad too much glitter in the pink blush so you have to be carefull if you want to use those for a photoshooting make up. The eye-shadows are really nice, not all are pigmented enough for a photo-use but good for daily wear. I don´t wear lip-gloss a lot (on the weekends I love to wear my red lipsticks and on work-days my lip plumper) but I rather like the ones in the box. And as I actually hardly ever use lipgloss they will last for the next 10 years ;-) I consider to buy one of the boxes for my Mom as she allways complainsthat I have so much nice make up stuff and she hardly any. Might makes a nice birthday present.

Today I´ll go to a ex-work-mates BBQ. I worked together with her two years ago and every year we meet up again for a little grilling in the garden. :-)I hope the weather stays nice!

Besides that I prepare for a shooting tommorow were we will be house-wifes. So I got o pack a lot of my retro-items :-) I don´t know what to do with my hair and make up yet, but as it won´t be untill 3pm tommorow I´m sure I have time to come up with something :-) I´ll take along my camera and see if we film a bit :-)

I´m officially a business now

So this morning I went up early to get a license for my soon-to-come online shop. It took only 15 minutes including waiting time and a first mile-stone is set! Oh and i posted a new press release today...

The press release features pictures taken by Jean-Paul Kowitz - we had a shooting at the 2nd of August. He also snapped a sample pic of one of my tiki-hairflowers which I will post soon...
