Novelty Folklore Love - Trying to distract myself with color

Hello everyone,

I struck gold with this vintage novelty skirt featuring some traditional black forrest scenery and can´t wait until it arrives! I am so going to rock this with my sheer black blouse!

And it makes me think "Gosh I need to start to sew some of my own things again!!!" A sewing project would be just the right thing to distract me from beeing miserable. If only I would find the energy to get started and order something :-(

I have a few candidates I would like to sew up to some cute and different clothes...
Light Blue Russian Doll print
Hänsel und Gretel-esque fabric! How
do non-Germans actually call this
Grimm Brothers fairy tale?
The one with the Gingerbread House.
Swedish Dala Horse. However this is
like25 € per meter, yet how amazing
would it be to wear this during my
next Sweden vacation??? Swedish
Blog Readers: I know you exist.
Point me into a cheaper direction!
I call it "Let´s slam every folklore
theme into one fabric plus windmills".
Sadly I found only one meter avail-
able. Too little to make a dress or skirt!

film, cut, sew

Hi everyone,

the filming day was fun! I think you will see at least something of me in the finished clip as Iam in almost every scene - sitting around, walking through the picture, seeling stuff, shutting doors, etc. We started to joke that it looks like there is a little red haired stalker :-D The team also took some making of photos - we´ll see wether I get them and wether there are some nice ones I can share with you :-D

It will take a while till there is a finished clip of it. There is still a lot of material to film for the main actors and it has to be cut etc. etc.

I had my hair cut yesterday! I was so tired of the split ends! You have to pay a price for all the hair-colouring that goes on to keep it a shimmering flawless red. Other may get away if they don´t colour their hair for several months, but I can´t. After all visible roots mean EXTRA-WORK for the photographer. And I do what I can to avoid extra-work. So it was "Goodbye split ends" for me. After all I ocassionally use clip in extensions for my shoots. When you see me with hair that is waaaaaay over shoulder-lenght you can bet it´s not real ;-) I will see wether I can show you pics of my new hair cut later. I have no one around to snap a decent pic at the moment :-)

I got back to sewing, too! I haven´t done that in a year or more, but I still had this crazy mexican print fabric that wanted to become a skirt really bad (I just managed to get one meter of that. Damn it!!! But it was just enough for a skirt ;-) I´m happy my first real sewing project in FOREVER turned out so nice. The pockets took the most time, but I felt they were necessary as the huuuuge mexican print made my hips look even wider than they are. The pockets make it look normal now :-)
Honestly I have no ocassion to wear it for. Surprisingly there are never mexican parties here ;-) There is a new mexican restaurant down the street, but I´m not sure wether they´d think I´m trying to make fun of their culture or something when I come to pick up something :-D We´ll see. I can use it for a shooting.

My fave music videos in 2009!

Hi everyone,

I decided to do a little chart for some of my fave music videos 2009. It doesn´t matter when they where originally put on youtube, all that counts is that I saw them in 2009 - and instantly liked them!

The most controversial music video:

Cutest Retro Educational Music Video:

The most hilarious literal version:

Song about the situation most likely to actually occur to you:

Most off-beat interview prior a tv-performance:

It saddens me a bit when someone attacks me despite me not having done anything wrong, which occured yesterday. It upset me at first, but it´s not me beeing the problem and I won´t make it mine. However this happens about 1 time a year or so, so I guess I can enjoy and be happy during the other 362 days :-)

Talking about enjoying. I really enjoy working on my fringe-y outfit. It goes really smoothly and I have some fab ideas. I just need a actual definitive shooting date to come along to use it. The ones planned are still pending. And the "clothes I should shoot with" start to pile up. However I might do a little self-pic session tommorow when John visits his friend. I photoshopped another picture from my last one today as I did a DVD Workshop by Calvin Hollywood and took one of my own photos to try around. It is again one with the cute van Asch hair acessoire and off course you see it here in my blog. (Btw: there is a sale going on on their website: http://vanasch.myshopify.com). I also updated my website with another front pic of mine and added this very blog to the "News-Reel" Section.

Online shop and so...

Hi Folks,

I started adding the first items to my online-shop. I´ll add some more later on, but as it is so much stuff I took a little break for now. In order to make it more convenient for the customers I made the handling of the shop easier. You can just press a button to put it in your cart and can just go ahead and pay it via paypal. Phew ;-)

When you work hard all week to finish off your website you deserve a treat, too.  Women allways want a bigger one. A hulahoop, that is ;-) So I got me a new one with double the weight of my previous one. 1,5 kg!!! So this is what it would feel like if you´d rotate a rather big chihuahua around your waist :-D I did that now for 15 minutes and my belly really got warm now. The new one has more massage balls in it, too, so I´m curious wether my stomach will turn blue again. Let´s see how much more I can improve my waist without wearing a corset every day :-) My recent loss is 5-6 cm for the moment. I don´t know if I can top that.

So now I relax a bit (maybe some shopping? Maybe doing a nice facial mask? Maybe just laying around lazy and watch tv? I don´t know yet)

I didn´t feature patterns I consider cool for a while. The new Burda Easy Fashion has come out with some 50s themed stuff and I rather like it:

I just wish I would find time to actually sew something...

Whereever you go - take a onion with you

...that´s what John tells me cause it´s supposed to be good against colds to have a half onion laying next to you. Honestly I never heard of that before but it can´t hurt to try. It reminds me on my childhood though when my Mom and aunt tried to remove a wart on my nose with placing a snail on it. The snail died and they had to go to the doctor with me afterwards anyway :-( But well that´s like 20 years ago. May the snail rest in peace.

Anyway I have a feeling that the pain in my throat gets better, however my nose is running like crazy. I hope that´s a good sign... After all it shines in the dark.

However I did my spa-thingie for today:

Review: The face-wash-cream smells urgh so I think I stay with Benefits "Honey snap out of it". The rest is pretty good though and since I have tons of it left I´ll continue using it for the next few days. I sort of like the face tonic and the face milk. However it´s not really in my price-range so I´ll stick with Weleda-products which I really love, too.

I really consider visiting a lingerie-making course which is just around the corner. I think I´d love to do my own lingerie! I´d also love to do my own corsets, but I couldn´t find any workshop or course for it yet. At least not in Germany.

Vacaum Cleaner

Hi everyone!

After 4 job-interviews in 3 days I took a rest now and will sew something nice again :-) To be exact: I´ll do a outfit to match my powder-blue and white 60s vacaum cleaner... What??? A outfit matching a housework item that doesn´t even work anymore??? Oh yeah and you´ll find out the sense in it soon... ;-) Or you won´t and I just do it cause I´m so gaga :-D

I don´t know how others searching for a job do it, but I´m somewhat exhausted travelling back and forth for all those meetings. It´s more stress than actually working. And I thought I could relax... doh!

Hugs,
Sari
